Mr. Shea is a caring teacher who strives to bring out the best in each student. He has been a concert band conductor, modern band director, high school Literature teacher, guitar teacher, Orff instructor and general music teacher for grades TK-12. Mr. Shea left his career in software over a decade ago to become a music educator. Since that time he has earned a Clear/Level II Teaching Credential; having studied at Berklee College of Music, Skidmore College, Tufts University, San Francisco State University, University of Texas, Aquinas College, SUNY-Albany and more.
During the summers Mr. Shea enjoys playing in professional music ensembles, participating in social justice causes and biking. He has performed and studied with some of the world’s finest musicians in many genres of music, including; Donald “Duck” Bailey, (David) Tronzo, Findlay Cockrell, Smith Dobson, “Slide” Hampton, The Cunninghams, Jackie King, Grant Levin and many more. Mr. Shea’s favorite thing to do is help young musicians grow!
